Nettle vs Google?

Google has put Nettle in the dog-house. Nettle used to be listed high on the top-10 search results any time you searched the word "nettle". Not anymore. Now the first search result pointing to nettle.com is #681. If you have Google set to the default preferences, and most users do, that means you have to go 68 pages in before you find this blog listed.

That just ain't right. Read more over at my other blog, brianstorms (which, if you search for that term, you find at result #1.)

If you like the Nettle blog, please write about it on your own websites and link here. Together we can restore Nettle to its rightful place among the top ten search results.

Nettle vs ACLU, Part Three --- Good News!

This is part three of an ongoing Nettle series on the ACLU. Here are links to Part One and Part Two.
by Brian Dear

I'm really happy to report that the ACLU has updated its membership signup page, reflecting the suggestions I made back Part One and Part Two of this series on the ACLU user experience.

Here's what their new signup page looks like:

Here's the important new addition:

Thank you, ACLU. This is fantastic!

As promised, I'll be sending you a check to renew my membership in your organization.

UPDATE 1 Dec 2003, 10:30pm:
Some folks on The WELL suggest that when filling out forms such as ACLU's, one always be sure to put some kind of code or phrase in Address Line 2 of the form, so that you'll be able to track who gets the address (since the information sharing is always done by machine, nobody removes the code, and it winds up showing up on envelopes in your mailbox).
