We love movies, the web, and mobile internet. We also love building new technology that delights and benefits people all over the world. What better way to do what we love than to build MovieGoer, our new iPhone app for moviegoers. And we're just getting started!
Brian has been doing startups for over 20 years, beginning with Coconut Computing which he co-founded in 1987. He's worked at RealNetworks, MP3.com, Eazel, and eBay. In 2004 he founded Eventful, the world's largest search engine for events, and created its viral "Demand it!" service. In 2010 he and Dan O'Neill, who he worked with at MP3.com, co-founded Nettle to pursue a vision of making meaningful social/mobile applications that change the world. Brian majored in Cognitive Science at the University of California, San Diego. He is an active moviegoer and goes to dozens of movies every year.
Prior to co-founding Nettle, O'Neill was CTO and Exec. VP of Mood Media, a world-wide retail media services company. Mood Media purchased Trusonic, Inc. in 2007 where O'Neill was the co-founder, CTO and Exec. VP. During his tenure the company reinvented digital delivery of preprogrammed audio to retailers and grew the business more than 30% year over year. Prior to co-founding Trusonic, O'Neill was the CTO of VU Net USA, a division of Vivendi Universal responsible for the technical direction of MP3.com, MP4.com, Pressplay (now Roxio/Napster), Rollingstone.com and eMusic. From 1999 to 2003 he was the VP of Engineering at MP3.com where he assisted in a $370m IPO and lead the engineering team. Santa Clara University, Leavey School of Business, named him to its IPO Hall of Fame in 2000 and the School of Engineering named O'Neill the 2009 Distinguished Engineering Alumnus. Dan holds both a BSME and an MSCS degree from Santa Clara University.
